A foggy scene with dense evergreens fading lightly into the background. Power lines criss-cross the image and fade into the fog. At the center a telephone pole rises adorned by a large osprey nest. The osprey hovers above the nest with its wings up and feet out as it prepares to land.

A Foggy Morning Downeast

35mm film photography

Photo was taken on the FED-4 in Downeast Maine on the side of the road, near Cutler on the way to Lubec. The folks up there will leave nesting platforms on top of telephone poles. Here, an osprey, returning to its chicks, has made a comfy home.
