Collage of four pictures of the patchwork robe. The brightly colored patches are held on with rows of large, colorful stitches, each about a half inch apart. The inside of the robe is one shade of blue, which makes the many colors of stitching pop out.

Common Threads

Fabric

A simple patchwork robe made from beautiful scraps and an old sheet. The large stitches are inspired by visible mending, kantha quilting, and sashiko stitching.

Artist Statement

I make things with fabric. Many small stitches add up to something great.
