17th-Century-Inspired Cabinet
White oak, maple, gel stain, leather dye
The case is white oak, stained for an aged effect. The maple feet were lathe-turned and dyed black. The design of the door panel carving was taken from a blanket chest attributed to Thomas Dennis, a 17th-century cabinetmaker in Ipswich, MA.
Artist Statement
I am a lover of all things aesthetic. I have some training in woodworking and traditional furniture making, though my primary crafts at the moment are knitting and (very basic) baking.
