Six people are seated at two tables, each with a typewriter and a desk bell in front of them. They create a stomping beat by pressing the typewriter keys, sliding the carriages, and ringing the bells in rhythm. In the second half of the song, the people sing the following during a break in the music:

I’m a songwriter and instrument wrangler. Boston Typewriter Orchestra is a collective endeavor which engages in rhythmic typewriter manipulation combined with elements of performance, comedy and satire.
