A zine with each panel depicting an orange branch, a bouquet of flowers, a sunset behind mountain ranges, a face, bubbles, and a pair of hands holding each other with flowers growing from forearms.

Simple Joys

Colored Pencil on Kraft Paper

A zine dedicated to my relationship with nature and other simple joys throughout the pandemic.

A visual timelapse of the sun from sunrise to sunset. Using playing cards with mountain ranges on them, each panel represents a different time of day through the position of the sun.

Peak

Acrylic, Color Pencil, and Ink

A flagbook (a structural book form) made from repurposed playing cards to render one of the many timelapses of sunsets I filmed from mountain ranges during the pandemic.

Artist Statement

I am a multimedia artist who uses art as mode of storytelling and exploration. In this collection, I used bookmaking as a medium to explore how books can communicate beyond words through non-traditional structures.
