Colorful quilt artwork featuring a geometric pattern of concentric circles and rectangles in shades of red, orange, yellow, and darker blues and grays, with a textured, stitched surface.

Auras

Cotton fabric and cotton batting

From a technique of sewing concentric circles developed by Lucy Engels, I began exploring the way the colors interacted to create a glowing effect. The glowing auras are complemented with expanding quilting lines, both hand and machine stitched.

Artist Statement

I sew and design quilts in a modern or minimalist style. I teach quilting classes and am a member of the Cambridge modern Quilt Guild.
