A multi-media 2D animated short film that follows a battle of bulimia.

No dialogue in this film. The score is a piano chordal arrangement in a minor mode with broken chords to reflect the character’s state of mind. The accompaniment intensifies as the character’s journey progresses.

Artist Statement

Marley Steen is an animator, illustrator, and musician located in Boston, MA. She has a fondness for combining traditional and digital media in her narrative and non-narrative works. She graduated from Lesley University’s College of Art and Design in 2022 with a bachelor’s in fine arts. While working at Harvard, she’s continuing her education at the Extension school to complete a master’s certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Leadership to further deepen her social justice lens in art.
