This is an aerial photograph taken from a drone. The location is at Green Lakes State Park in Manlius, New York near Syracuse. It is really a unique location and is very pretty but when you can view it from the air it’s even more stunning to see the landscape come alive with the color. The vibrant greenish blue color is due to the high levels of calcium carbonate in the water.
Artist Statement
My name is Mike Guarino and I am a photographer who has a passion for the outdoors. I have been capturing nature’s beauty on film and digital media since 1996. I enjoy photography, hiking, skiing, camping, fly fishing, backpacking, traveling and much more. My photos are from all around the United States with a focus on landscapes in New England. In recent years I have added drones to my photography and that has been really fun. You can see the landscape in many ways you never thought of. It’s very fun to frame a photograph with a drone.
