A mortar and pestle in the center surrounded by blue, yellow and gray markings around a large poppy-shaped stencil outline

ast (love)

Gelatin print with acrylic paint

The mortar and pestle represent a grandson’s love for his grandmother. The unikko (poppy) shaped stencil is reminiscent of Scandinavian design.

A large outline of a house is in the center. Inside of that is a blurred photo of Haley House. Underneath the large outline is a dark grassy area with a few lighter grass highlights.

Alone

Gelatin print with acrylic, collage, charcoal and graphite

The historic Haley House in Maine inspired this piece. The only non-neutral color is red which is prominent on the historic building’s trim.
